Toyo Seikan to build a beverage can plant in China

November 14: Japan’s leading packaging manufacturer Toyo Seikan Kaisha (TSK) is planning to build its first canmaking plant for two-piece beverage cans in China.
At a board meeting in Tokyo yesterday, it was decided to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary based in Guangzhou as part of a strategy to explore overseas packaging markets in Asia.
The new company, expected to be formed in January 2008, will be called Toyo Composite Material Products Company (Guangzhou) and managed by Takao Nakai, operating officer of TSK’s international division.
