November 15: Despite a decline in the third-quarter, US beverage can shipments look set to show the first year-on-year increase for five years at the end of 2006.
Strong promotions by drinks companies in the first half of the year boosted sales by almost three percent. But with the completion of the promotions, 3Q shipments of beer and beverage cans slipped to 26.04 billion, down 1 percent on the same quarter last year.
