US canmaking lobby group hits back at newspaper

June 2: The industry body that represents the canmaking business in the US has reacted to accusations by a leading newspaper that it organised a meeting in “an exclusive Washington club” to discuss the Bisphenol-A issue as a means to “polish up its image”.
In a statement following the news item last week in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the North American Metal Packaging Alliance (NAMPA) yesterday accused the paper of “shoddy journalism at best and a breach of journalistic ethics at worst”.
