US shipments of soft drinks cans slip again

October 21: Sales of beverage cans in the US fell by 3.7 percent in the third quarter compared with the same period in 2007, when the fall was 0.8 percent, according to data from the Can Manufacturers Institute.
The fall in the three months to the end of September was more than a billion to total 25.9 billion cans.
