March 22: Vietnam’s latest can manufacturing plant – inaugurated on Tuesday – is one of a number being built to meet growing demand for canned soft drinks and beer in the South East Asia region.
Asia Packaging Industries, a joint venture between Japan’s leading packaging producer Toyo Seikan and Hong Kong’s Davlyn Steel Corporation, has capacity to make 450 million aluminium cans a year, three-quarters of which will be for the domestic market.
