September 7: A leading wine distributor in Russia is launching its first wine in a can. Elsa, a Liebfrauenmilch produced in Germany, will be distributed in Russia by Marine Express from this month in cans made by Rexam.
The wine-in-a-can sector continues to grow with a number of manufacturers in Europe, despite Australian winery Barokes winning a patent case that protects its Vinsafe filling process.
The Elsa aluminium 25cl cans with a matt finished label, are made at Rexam’s Recklinghausen plant and filled by Rhodius in Germany.
